Peer Support Worker

What I Do

As a Peer Support Worker I use my lived experience of mental health issues to support others. I am currently studying for a BSc in Psychology through the Open University.

How I Support Patients

We support people to connect with the local community by providing information and sign-posting. Where we identify a need for a new community group, we will aim to facilitate those sessions, with a view to them becoming selfsustaining.

Get in touch

The process begins with a telephone call to introduce the service, our aims and my role as a Peer Support Worker. We currently accept referrals through GP practices or people can self-refer to our service via our online form or by email to smi.support@nhs.net.
